VCU's PSE chapter wins big at National Convention

April 13, 2021 - Madeline Pullen

Congratulations are in order for the Pi Sigma Epsilon (PSE) chapter at VCU. PSE is a co-ed professional fraternity in the fields of sales, marketing and management. The VCU chapter (Alpha Kappa) competed in the Pi Sigma Epsilon Virtual National Convention and won the Marvin D. Loos Top New Chapter Award and the Lloyd L. Antle Top Amethyst Chapter Award!

The Marvin D. Loos Top New Chapter Award honored Alpha Kappa’s outstanding operations, programming, recruitment, and communications as a new chapter. Chartered during the onset of a global pandemic in April 2020, Alpha Kappa is one of only five other chapters established virtually.

Through their event hosting, chapter projects, and other chapter programming, Alpha Kappa reached a total of 28,025 Chapter Operation Guide (COG) points in just nine months. This amount of GOG points earned them the Amethyst Level, leading them to receive the Lloyd L. Antle Top Amethyst Chapter Award.

Alpha Kappa’s Jasmine Demory and Larry Reynolds competed in the Mutual of Omaha Interview Competition, where contestants acted as college seniors interviewing for Mutual of Omaha’s Sales Trainee Program. Jasmine won second place out of ten total winning candidates.

In the National Speaker’s Competition, competitors performed a welcome speech to trainees as Enterprise Holding’s Talent Development Manager. Jasmine served as Kappa Alpha’s first member to participate and won runner-up in the 2020 Northeast/North Central Regional Speaker’s Competition.

Pi Sigma Epsilon is the nation’s only professional business fraternity for men and women in the fields of sales, marketing, and management. Since its inception in 1952, PSE has enriched the lives of over 50,000 people and has established chapters on over 170 campuses nationwide. For
