Degree programs and Advising

Most students enter through the Business Foundation Program, which includes our popular Winning Presentations course, the Foundations of Business course and the shared undergraduate business curriculum. Requirements are slightly different for financial technology majors.

To formally declare a business major, you’ll need to complete the Business Foundation Program with a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA. If you're not sure which classes to take or which major is right for you, our academic advisors will assist you from orientation along your path to graduation!

Financial Success Center

The new Virginia Credit Union Financial Success Center at VCU is dedicated to helping our community move forward to achieve financial success. The center provides free personal and professional financial education, including assistance and counseling on budgeting, saving, credit, student loan repayment, career transitions and more.

Laptop requirements

Entering freshman and transfer students enrolled in School of Business programs are required to own a laptop that meets minimum university specifications. We strongly recommend purchasing a PC over a Mac to ensure compatibility with all course material.
